NHL 18 is currently being developed by EA Sports according to close sources to the developers and the National Hockey League.
The release date has not been released but we are close to predicting the release date for the next big hockey game. We believe it’s going to take at least nine developing months for the Canadian side to release NHL 18. EA are collaborating with National Hockey League to get all the things set up before assigning people to the project.
It has been made clear to us that the developers have full access from the NHL 18 to the roster, licensing and are allowed to approach any games as study projects. We believe there are going to be more cameras this time from EA Sports shot that they get more advanced knowledge for the graphics and gameplay.
There have been a few questions raised to whether the game is being developed with a frostbite engine. Although it has not been confirmed by any parties, we do not see the point of EA Sports using a completely new engine for it. The game needs some changes in graphics but it does not need a complete override which might cause more problems than fixes.
We can expect to see a ton of changes in NHL 18. Some of the features may include dynamic weather and fixing corner flags.
